The Objective

Following a major merger that doubled the size of the business, Vincit needed a more robust and scalable approach to financial consolidation and reporting.

Previously, the process was heavily reliant on Excel, with different entities working in local accounting systems. This created a fragmented and manual workflow, increasing the risk of errors and making it difficult to manage consolidation efficiently.

With growing complexity and tighter reporting requirements, the finance team needed a dedicated consolidation system that could:

  • Replace manual, Excel-based processes
  • Reduce risk and improve accuracy
  • Handle increased group complexity post-merger
  • Enable faster and more efficient month-end closing

The Result

80% reduction in consolidation time

The most immediate impact was a dramatic reduction in time spent on consolidation.

Previously, the process required around 40 hours per month, but many tasks were done manually without using AARO’s automation features. With AARO by Pacera, this has been reduced to approximately 8 hours, equivalent to just one working day for a single person.

This efficiency gain allows the team to close faster and operate more effectively.

Earlier month-end close

With automation and streamlined workflows in place, Vincit is now able to close the books with fewer human resources than before.

This gives the finance team more time for analysis and decision support, rather than being tied up in manual processes.

Reduced manual work and error risk

Moving away from Excel has significantly lowered the risk of human error.

Previously, the process involved manual data handling, including exporting and re-importing files between systems. Now, calculations and consolidation are handled directly within AARO.

This has led to:

  • Fewer typing errors
  • Greater consistency in reporting
  • Improved overall data reliability

Increased automation through integrations

AARO’s integrations and automation capabilities have been key to driving efficiency.

For example:

  • Automated key figure calculations are handled directly within AARO
  • Cash flow reporting is fully integrated within AARO
  • Foreign subsidiaries are imported using AARO Import Excel and work efficiently

These improvements have eliminated repetitive tasks and streamlined the entire process.

Improved reporting quality and control

With all entities consolidated in one system, Vincit now benefits from stronger control and higher-quality reporting.

The finance team can rely on consistent data structures, automated processes, and built-in calculations, leading to more accurate and trustworthy outputs.

Strong support during a complex transition

AARO’s consultants played an important role in supporting Vincit through the transition to IFRS reporting. Implementation was carried out with Greenstep consultants, while the IFRS transition and cash flow implementation were supported by AARO consultants.

This was the company’s first IFRS reporting, as Vincit had previously reported under Finnish accounting standards. Despite a tight timeline, the collaboration enabled Vincit to successfully deliver IFRS reporting on schedule in the first half of 2025.

I would recommend AARO. It’s easy to use, very straightforward, and offers a wide range of necessary functionalities.
