Volvo Car Retail has again made the choice to select Mercur Business Control for budgeting, forecasting, monthly reporting, sales tracking and analysis.
Volvo Car Retail implements Mercur for enhanced Financial Management
“The return to Mercur became inevitable when the need for faster development of reports increased and higher demands were placed on the flexibility of the reports. We also had a need to involve the entire organization in both budgeting and forecasting work, which resulted in the development of dashboards tailored to each business area.”
As part of its business growth imperatives, Volvo Car Retail is empowered to drive innovation and contribute to the future success of Volvo SE. This project within the finance function will undoubtably add value to the overall organisation and not just within the finance function.
“Like several other companies, we have a broadly functionalized organization which places demands on several specific reports and processes. With Mercur, we can meet the business’s needs for instant integrations and user-friendly reports – reports that the report owners themselves can change without expensive consulting costs.” – Erik Fontander, Senior Business Control, Volvo Car Retail
Volvo Car Retail has chosen to leverage Mercur’s standard functionality including driver-based budget and forecast models. The various business areas can therefore work with drivers they are familiar with. Like many end users in a budget cycle, in large enterprise, not all are finance experts so a driver based model delivering familiarity, increases end user adoption, understanding, and satisfaction.
Volvo Car Retail sees significant benefits in being able to gather data from its various source systems in Mercur Business Control. For this project, initially Mercur is integrated with the Unit4, Tacdis, and Agda ERP systems.
